The campsite is beautifully situated in the mountains (678m), very quiet by lake, approx. 7 km from Skåbu center (approx. 90 km from Lillehammer in Innlandet/Norway). Between Norway's three most popular national parks (Jotunheimen, Rondane and Langsua). Skåbu is the highest, permanently inhabited village in Northern Europe.

The area is very popular for camp tourists because the wonderful nature invites you to do activities all year round. For example: hiking, swimming, fishing, boating and canoeing, cycling, moose safari, dog sledding, skiing, hunting, ski touring, ice climbing, marathon…and much more.

In winter, a “White Christmas” is guaranteed. The residents and tourists really appreciate the huge range of cross-country skiing options. Northern lights and seeing mooses are also very popular for tourists.

Summer time on this idyllic place is beautiful and calming, as many of our guests have already reported back. Also feel free to look at pictures or reviews for “Skåbu Hyttegrend” on Google….this is not a ” 1 night- camping”, almost all guests stay longer than planned because they like it so much. Our campsite has a lot of regular guests because it has been in operation for decades.

The property is perfect as a small family business, and offers a beautiful home in breathtaking nature. It consists of: Addresses: Almenningsvegen 86 + 92

Residential house (127m2): kitchen, living and dining room, 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, carport.
Big holiday home in Norwegian cabin style (126m2) with kitchen, living and dining room, 4 bedrooms and bathroom in the 2. floor. The sanitary building for the campers is on the 1st floor.

2 originally camping huts (without water, with electricity), (approx. 27m2 each).
In addition to a large workshop and garage building, there is also a big barbecue area with cabin right on the lake, campfire area, wood-fired sauna, and a boathouse. Natural camping pitches on the meadow for mobile homes, tents and caravans, some with electricity.

There are also parking spaces, a small playground and a volleyball court, as well as canoe and boat rentals.
All buildings are heated with electricity, but there are also wood stoves. Water is supplied from own waterhole. Waste water through septic tank. The municipal taxes are therefore very low. A photovoltaic system was also installed in 2022 (5.4KW).
