Rjukan Hytte og Caravanapark is located in a beautiful natural environment, 8 km from the town of Rjukan on the R 37, there is a bus stop at the campsite. The campsite has 16 different types of holiday homes, including a number of traditional hyttes (with grass on the roof). Varying in size from 2 person to 8 person hyttes. The hyttes are rented out all year round, so they are also a nice place if you want to go on holiday in the winter. The 120 camping pitches are situated on grass and from the campsite you have a great view of the 1,883 meter high Gaustatoppen mountain, one of the most beautiful mountains in Norway. The campsite is spacious with a special area for tents.
The campsite has a reception and camping shop and there is WIFI. At Rjukan Hytte og Caravanpark you will find 2 sanitary buildings. The old sanitary facilities are housed in a beautiful traditional building, the new sanitary facilities date from 2019 and are also built in the Telemark style. The immediate vicinity of the campsite is a paradise for walkers, but cycling is also possible. In addition to the campsite and the hyttes, the property has a fully equipped restaurant with space for approximately 50 guests (not being used at the moment), a house with reception, double garage and various barns and a monumental stabur.

Rjukan and Hardangervidda
Rjukan Hytte og Caravanpark is about 8 km away. from the center of Rjukan town. This town with several shops and a supermarket was once founded for the workers of a hydroelectric power plant that now serves as a museum. In the middle of Rjukan is “Sun Square”, a square that in winter receives sunlight through large mirrors on a 450 meter mountain. The Hardangervidda, the largest plateau in Europe and very popular with hikers, also begins just outside Rjukan. In winter there are many options for an active winter holiday in the vicinity of the object, a ski area with various illuminated slopes and also benchmark climbing on the many frozen waterfalls in the area is popular.

Gaustalopen
According to experts, Mount Gaustatoppen – with a height of 1,883 meters – is one of the most beautiful mountains in Norway. The top of the mountain can be reached on foot, but you can also go up through the mountain via a cog railway. From the top of Gaustatoppen you have an unforgettable view. In clear weather you can see 1/6 of Norway.
